Building confidence from homework to the classroom
Your 4th grader is growing into such an interesting person … if only their interest extended to writing and spelling! If your child needs extra writing help, 4th grade is the perfect age to take action.
Our 4th grade writing tutors do more than guide kids to better spelling, grammar and writing skills (though they do that too). Our tutors help children — like yours — discover a deeper level of confidence through a mix of personal instruction, positive feedback and fun rewards. You’ll see the difference in smiles as well as scores, from homework to the classroom.
What they’ll learn
With our 4th grade writing tutoring program, your child will learn how to:
2nd grade through 12th grade
Writing programs by grade levels
We offer writing programs from 2nd through 12th grade to help students improve their writing in elementary, middle and high school. Elementary

What parents are saying
“While it is hard to get our son out the door to go to tutoring at Sylvan he always has a good experience there. His writing has consistently improved. The tutors make the time there fun and engaging.”
“Our daughter really made progress and came out with more confidence which will definitely help her this school year.”
“My daughter and son both love going, my son uses your homework help. And my daughter is in the full program. She began there in May 2026 and was a level 3 in reading and writing. We have done 2 hours a week since then and I am overjoyed by the results. Sylvan has her reading and writing at her grade level by middle of September 2026. The results were fast and I could see improvement almost immediately. I have told many people about sylvan and will continue too”
