Meet the Victoria team

Palak Bhatia has been with Sylvan since September 2022. As an Executive Director, Palak oversees end to end business operations at three Sylvan locations - Victoria, Westshore, and Nanaimo. Palak values education and believes it to be the most powerful tool for creating a better future. She has a passion to work with young kids and help them achieve academic success. This is why, after graduating from Simon Fraser University with a master’s degree in business, Palak decided to pursue her passion, and use her knowledge and expertise in leading Sylvan. In her leisure, Palak enjoys painting, stargazing, and learning new recipes.

As Centre Director, Danielle Comeau leads all business operations for Sylvan of Victoria. Danielle has been with Sylvan since 2015, first as a teacher, then as the Director of Education, and finally as a Center Director in 2019. Danielle graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor’s degree in English and History. In 2012, she also earned her Bachelor of Education, specializing in middle school education. As our Center Director, Danielle works with parents and students to help each child develop self-confidence and achieve success at Sylvan and at school. When Danielle isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her in art galleries and events.

Nicola Ng earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in 1999. She became interested in education when she volunteered as an English tutor for newcomers in Canada. She enjoyed teaching English so much that she became a Certified ESL Teacher. Nicola joined Sylvan in 2022 as a teacher and works alongside Danielle to ensure the educational integrity of our programs, thereby fostering growth of each child coming to Sylvan.
