Every child learns differently — and the LA GATOR Scholarship Program gives Louisiana families the flexibility to choose the educational support that’s right for their child. As an approved provider on the Odyssey marketplace, Sylvan is ready to put those funds to work for your student.

What Is the LA GATOR Scholarship?

Louisiana’s first Education Savings Account (ESA) gives eligible families over $5,190 per year to spend on approved educational services — including tutoring. Unlike traditional voucher programs, the ESA puts the decision in your hands. You choose how the funds are used and which providers you work with.

How Sylvan Works with LA GATOR

When your child comes to Sylvan, we start with a personalized skills assessment to understand exactly where they are and where they need to go. From there, our certified tutors build a customized learning plan targeting the specific gaps holding your child back — whether that’s reading, math, or both. Your LA GATOR funds can be applied directly toward your child’s Sylvan program through the Odyssey portal.

How to Get Started

1. Apply for the LA GATOR Scholarship at lagator.la.gov
2. Once approved, log into the Odyssey portal and select your local Sylvan center as your provider
3. Schedule your child’s skills assessment and let’s build their plan
