Parent FAQ
Who provides the curriculum?
Foundations Academy students use Sylvan Sync reading, math, and writing. Success Academy families select and provide their preferred homeschool curriculum.
What days does the program meet?
Parents select two, three, or four days per week, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Who is this designed for?
Homeschool families seeking structure, accountability, and educator support.
Why is there a registration fee?
The annual registration fee reserves your child’s place in the Sylvan Homeschool Learning Lab and covers enrollment, student assessments, program planning, classroom materials, technology, and administrative costs. This non-refundable fee is paid once each school year and is separate from tuition.
Can a month be pro-rated?
No. The Sylvan Homeschool Learning Lab is offered at a significantly discounted flat monthly rate, a pricing model that keeps the program affordable for families. If you prefer more flexibility, you may choose to pay by the hour instead. We do not offer prorated rates for programs that are already discounted. The per diem fee of $150.00 is calculated as 3 hours of instruction x $50.00 per hour, which is our standard tutoring rate.
Can I reschedule missed sessions?
Our Homeschool Learning Lab has limited capacity and is often at full enrollment with a waitlist. While our staff will do their best to assist with rescheduling for planned absences, we cannot guarantee availability. If a reschedule is not possible, we are unable to provide make-up classes or financial compensation.
Why are students not allowed to use personal electronic devices during instruction?
Electronic devices such as cell phones can distract not only the individual student but the entire instructional floor. To promote a focused and effective learning environment, no personal electronic devices are allowed during instruction time (apart from approved computers for virtual or online students). Students will be asked to place their devices in a secure electronics box during sessions.
What if I have questions about my student’s program or progress?
We’re here to help. If you have questions or concerns about your student’s program, please contact the center to schedule a time to speak with the Director. Because drop-off and pick-up times are busy, we recommend setting up a dedicated time so we can give you our full attention.
Is there optional extended learning?
Yes. Students may stay from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. for targeted Sylvan intervention. Additional fees apply.
