Your Child Is Behind. There's State Funding to Help — and a Plan That Can Turn It Around.

Watching your child struggle in reading or math is hard. The good news: Louisiana's Steve Carter Education Program provides eligible families with a $1,500 tutoring voucher — and Sylvan is an approved provider ready to put it to use.

What Is the Steve Carter Program?

The Steve Carter Education Program provides $1,500 annual vouchers to families of K–12 public school students who are performing below grade level in reading or math. The voucher can be used to purchase tutoring from an approved provider, with sessions available in person or virtually after school hours.

How Sylvan Works with Steve Carter

At Sylvan, we don't guess at what your child needs. Every student starts with a diagnostic skills assessment that tells us precisely where the gaps are — then we build a targeted tutoring plan around those findings. Our certified tutors work with your child in a supportive, encouraging environment where they can build real skills and real confidence. Your Steve Carter voucher can be applied directly toward your child's Sylvan tutoring program.
