Our tutors and staff in Mid-South Calgary consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Mid-South Calgary know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Fiona Johnson, B.A.
Director
Fiona is the owner and Executive Director of Sylvan of Mid-South Calgary, and has worked with the centre since 2010. Having obtained a teaching degree in England, she joined her family in Alberta and Calgary has now been home for several years. With a specialism in Early Years Education, she enjoys working with the younger students, but also enjoys teaching elementary math. She enjoys working on finding new ways to help students overcome challenges in their programs and ensuring academic success for everyone who comes in to the centre. When Fiona isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her crocheting, baking, or gardening.
