Our tutors and staff in Denton and Corinth consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Denton and Corinth know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Holly M.
Center Director
Holly earned her Bachelors of Education degree from Baylor University. She has worked at Sylvan since August of 2000. Prior to Sylvan, she was a Math & Science teacher for Irving ISD. In her free time, Holly enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. The most rewarding part of Sylvan for her is getting to see success and joy in the eyes of her Sylvan students and parents!
Rebecca S.
Director/Lead Tutor
Rebecca earned her Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of North Texas. She has worked at Sylvan since May of 2018. Prior to working at Sylvan, she home schooled her children as well as five other children. She also worked in private practice doing speech therapy. The most rewarding part of Sylvan for Rebecca is seeing the “ah ha” moments when a student learns a new concept!
Suzanne M.
Tutor
Suzanne earned her bachelors degree from Texas Wesleyan University and Masters of Education degree from North Texas State University. She has worked at the Sylvan of Denton since February of 2005. Prior to Sylvan, she was a teacher in Garland ISD for 30 years. In her free time, Suzanne enjoys reading and traveling. The most rewarding part of Sylvan for her is the interaction she has with Reading and Math students.
Jaime C.
Tutor
Jaime earned her Bachelors degree from Auburn University and her Masters degree in Educational Technology from the University of North Texas. She has worked at the Sylvan of Denton since August of 2006. Prior to Sylvan, she was a Math teacher in Gainesville ISD for 5 years. In her free time, Jaime enjoys reading and photography. The most rewarding part of Sylvan for her is getting to know her Reading, Math and SAT/ACT students.
Brandi M.
Tutor
Brandi joined the Sylvan team in June of 2023. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University. Before Sylvan she taught in the local public school system. In her free time, Brandi enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Shelby P.
Tutor
Shelby joined the Sylvan team in May of 2024. She is a graduate of Arizona State University. Besides teaching, Shelby is passionate about animals of all kinds. In her free time she enjoys volunteering at the local animal shelters.
Robert F.
Tutor
Robert is a graduate of New Mexico State University. He has tutored at Sylvan since September of 2021. Robert’s passion for teaching stems from working and helping children with very diverse backgrounds.
Patsi C.
Tutor
Patsi has been a Sylvan team member since September of 2023. She is graduate of Texas Women’s University. In addition to working at Sylvan, she is a Math teacher in Keller ISD. In her free time, Patsi enjoys spending time with her children and attending their various rodeo events.
Marguerite "Rita" C.
Tutor
Rita has her Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Texas in El Paso. Before joining the Sylvan team, she worked as a Kindergarten teacher in Dallas ISD and rounded out her career as a principal. Rita enjoys being creative by making mosaics, quilting and attending art shows. Fun fact: Rita is an identical twin!
J "Tristan" B.
Tutor
Tristan earned his bachelors degree from Texas Tech. Sharing his love of Math with students is a big highlight in his day. In his free time, Tristan enjoys music festivals and competitive gaming.
