Lynne has been Sylvan’s Center Director for many years. She graduated from St. Joseph’s University with degrees in both Education and Psychology. After teaching in schools, she moved over to working in supplemental education. She loves the ability to connect with students on a more individualized and personal level. Lynne lives in New Jersey with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, crafts, and challenging math games.
Amy is a Reading Specialist who originally grew up in Lousiana, moved to Missouri for college and then settled in Philadelphia. She studied Elementary Education at Washington University and received her Masters in Education with a concentration on Reading. Since then, she has been a Reading Specialist for over 30 years and truly has a passion for reading and working with students. Amy enjoys a variety of hobbies such as gardening, knitting, hiking, cooking, traveling and playing ultimate frisbee.
Shameika, also known as ‘Sham,’ has been a member of our Sylvan family for many years! She is originally from New York City and has a gift for working with students. She received her Bachelors and Masters in Education at the Pennsylvania State University. She is also fluent in English and Spanish. When Shameika isn’t at Sylvan, you can find her spending time with her three cats.
Joanna is a 7th grade English and Language Arts teacher. She has degrees from the University of California and Drevel University; including her Masters in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum. She enjoys reading, going to the movies, and going to concerts. She has a dog named Lyla who rules her house.
Kiesha works in Higher Education and has also been a part of our Sylvan family for many years. She loves greeting our families at the door, especially our wonderful scholars! She enjoys solving puzzles and watching game shows like Jeopardy and Password. She has a yorkie named Miley who does tricks for treats.
