Maddy has spent the past 10 years working in childcare, education, and community programming, with experience ranging from higher education and residence life to childcare leadership, afterschool programs, and now Sylvan Learning. A graduate of Bryn Athyn College with a Bachelor’s in English Writing and Communications, Maddy graduated as a GPA-based Valedictorian Candidate and began a career at her alma mater. As Bursar and Dorm Mother, she discovered her passion for creating communities built on accountability, connection, progress, and emotional safety. After welcoming her children, Emma and Clyde, Maddy continued her career in childcare leadership, working with organizations including Lightbridge Academy, Bright Horizons, and Chatter Splatter Daycare. Most recently, she led programming for a computer science-focused afterschool and summer camp program, building partnerships with local schools and families while creating engaging learning experiences for hundreds of children. Maddy leads by understated example and positive reinforcement. She believes coherent communication creates confidence. She is passionate about building relationships with students, families, and staff and creating environments where children feel supported and excited to learn. A longtime champion of the Sylvan brand and its mission, Maddy is thrilled to build a learning center from the ground up. Her goal is to create a welcoming place where students feel comfortable, supported, and empowered to grow throughout their school years. Outside of work, Maddy is a competitive runner, devoted Catholic wife, mom stepmom, avid reader and writer, and advocate for mental health and special needs. She has three beloved kittens—two black cats and one white tabby—all named after One Piece characters: Franky, Chopper, and Nico [Robin].
