Donna Aggugelo

Center Director

Donna has been with Sylvan for 17 years. She has a  BA in Elementary Education for grades K-8 and a minor in psychology and Spanish. Her masters degree is in curriculum and instruction. She has had 30 years of teaching experience with 10 years teaching in Texas and 20 years teaching in the Hazelwood School District. Donna has been a director at Sylvan for 5 years. The success she’s seen the students achieve over the years at Sylvan has been very rewarding and keeps her motivated. At home Donna enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and watching baseball, football and hockey games.

Shera Ross

Tutor

Shera taught History in the Hazelwood School District and received her B.A. in Education with a concentration in Social Studies from Maryville University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University and a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I find it exciting when students gain self-confidence and have mastered a skill which previously had been challenging. When Shera isn’t at Sylvan, she enjoys being with family, friends, traveling, reading and going to the theater.

Micah Schwartz

Tutor

My name is Micah and I am from St. Louis. In May of 2024 I graduated from Webster University with an Education Studiea Degree. I have been a teacher’s assistant for two summers at Barrett’s Elementary in Parkway and Avery Elementary in Webster Groves. I have a passion for teaching in early childhood and did two internships for my Senior Education Research Class. These were conducted at the J Early Childhood Center in Creve Coeur and Dayspring Academy and Performing Arts Center in Maryland Heights. I am comfortable working with all students from Kindergarten through 6th grade in reading, writing, and math. I also enjoy golf and music for hobbies and I am the youngest of four in a close family.

Michael Sihilling

Tutor

I have an undergraduate degree in economics with a minor in history from U.C.L.A. and a Master’s Degree in International Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management. I completed post graduate studies in economics at Pembroke College, a constituent college of the University of Cambridge, England. I have tutored children from different places all over the world. I provide support with all levels from K-12 in math and reading. I believe all students can succeed with the right support, and Sylvan can provide that. The most rewarding aspect of this work is seeing students meet their goals. My favorite moments are when it’s clear that a student has more confidently understood a concept or process that they previously struggled with.

Nathan Fields

Tutor

My name is Nathan Fields, and I hold a degree in Biology from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Southern Illinois University. After spending 20 years in the agricultural industry-most recently serving as an executive overseeing scientific affiars-I’ve chosen to follow in the footsteps of my parents, both lifelong educators, by transitioning into teaching. This fall, I’ll be teaching eighth grade science and am excited to bring real-world experience into the classroom. I’m also a proud father of three high schoolers, and when I’m not teaching or parenting, you’ll likely find me out on a cycling trail.

Marshal Huang

Tutor

Marshal began his tutoring experience early in high school and has had tutoring/mentoring be a facet of his life ever since.  He graduated from Saint Louis University with a degree in Biology and a minor in Philosophy. He also had extensive research at the graduate level and co-authored an award-winning paper in the fields of Bioinformatics and Biophysics. Marshal find joy when a student grasps a concept in an “Eureka!” moment and begins to understand a previously difficult subject material. He feels comfortable with K-12 students and works with most core subjects. When he has spare time he enjoys percussive-heavy music and going on nature walks.

Kea Daniels-Person

Tutor

My name is Kea Daniels-Person and I am happy to be a part of the Sylvan Learning team. I have been an educator for 27 years. I taught grades 2, 3, 5 and 6 and am currently an Instructional Leader. I love working with children and love to see the light in their eyes when they learn a new skill.

Taunia Stewart

Tutor

My name is Taunia Stewart and I am a dedicated teacher with 15 years experience. I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Criminal Justice. In 2008, I received a teaching certification in elementary and secondary education. I’m a proud parent of two sons who both attended college. My teaching philosophy involves supportingh students to learn effectively, encourage high self-esteem and provide a comfortable environment to thrive.

Kristen Cuneo

Tutor

Hi there! My name is Kristen Cuneo and I have wanted to be a teacher ever since Kindergarten. I stayed home to raise my own children and got my BA in Elementary Ed later in life. Since then, I’ve taught intervention, 3rd and 5th grade. I’ve even taught middle and high school math and Spanish. When I’m not working with the kiddos, I like to read, go for walks and binge-watch the latest shows.
