As Center Director, Kimberly leads the operations for Sylvan of Columbus. A former teacher, Kimberly chose a career in the tutoring business because she loves seeing children succeed and building their confidence. Kimberly studied at Auburn University and has over twenty years of teaching experience..
Darlene Robinson is a math and reading tutor at Sylvan in Columbus, Georgia. Darlene has a gift for working with kids and finds the greatest joy in teaching kids to read. She studied at Darton, Albany State, Columbus State and Troy State. Darlene has over 30 years of teaching experience. When Darlene isn't at Sylvan, you will find her involved in the ministries at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church and assisting with civic and social activities with the Columbus Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Lea McConnell is a math and reading tutor at Sylvan in Columbus, Georgia. While Lea has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in teaching children to have confidence and find success in their own abilities. She graduated from the university of Georgia with a Bachelors of Education degree. She has over 20 years of teaching experience at the elementary and middle school level. When Lea isn't at Sylvan, you will find her spending time with her family, watching football, and walking her dogs.
Glenda is a highly experienced middle and high school English teacher with over 35 years of experience and has a unique gift for helping ALL students learn. Glenda is also is an integral part in helping students prepare for both the ACT and SAT tests. She works endlessly with these students and has a sincere desire to see them all reach their full potential. Glenda graduated from Auburn University - "War Eagle"- but also cheers for the Tennessee Volunteers. Glenda enjoys reading, working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren.
Nancy is a middle grades math teacher at Sylvan in Columbus, Georgia. Nancy instantly forms true connections with all her students. She loves helping her students understand the concepts and content in math. Nancy has over 30 years of teaching experience. When Nancy isn’t at Sylvan, you may find her traveling to visit family or tailgating and watching Auburn football.
Portia Norris is a math and reading tutor at Sylvan in Columbus, GA. Portia loves working with kids. While Portia has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in teaching kids to think and tackle challenging tasks. When Portia isn't at Sylvan, you will find her tending to her plants, reading and working on decorating projects.
Ben is our math whiz in Columbus, GA with a gift for working with kids. While Ben has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in upper level math and science tutoring. When Ben is not at Sylvan, you will find him working on wood carving and his project car.
