Meet the Mount Dora & Tavares team

Miss Anna is the Center Director at Sylvan Learning of Mount Dora & Tavares, bringing her passion for education, creativity, and student success to the team. She studied Education Studies at Baptist University of Florida and Culinary Arts at Lake Technical College. Her favorite part of her role is advocating for students and connecting with families in the community. Outside of Sylvan, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, boating, swimming, trying new recipes, and reading. She also hopes to learn how to sail one day!

Miss Nikki has a heart for children and a passion for learning, continuing her education through the University of Phoenix, Grand Canyon University, and Miami Dade College. Her favorite part of working at Sylvan is connecting with students and supporting their learning journeys. She is dedicated to becoming an even better teacher, especially in helping children who have experienced trauma. Outside of Sylvan, she enjoys crocheting, beading, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and volunteering.

Miss Debbie brings a lifelong passion for education and helping students reach their full potential to the Sylvan Learning of Mount Dora & Tavares team. She attended Long Island University and St. John’s University and is proud of her accomplishments as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and mother of two daughters. Recently joining Sylvan, she looks forward to growing alongside fellow educators and making a positive impact on her students. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new places throughout Florida.

Miss Adriana brings a passion for education, psychology, and helping children experience exciting “light bulb moments” to the Sylvan Learning of Mount Dora & Tavares team. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University and her Master of Science in Educational Psychology from Kaplan University. With experience teaching VPK, she enjoys supporting young learners as they grow and discover new skills. Outside of Sylvan, she loves spending time with her two children, visiting the beach, running, playing pickleball, enjoying live music, and trying new foods. She also hopes to learn to play an instrument and expand her knowledge of beginning reading programs.

Jennifer has over 10 years of experience in education and a passion for helping children learn, grow, and reach their full potential. She studied Human Growth and Development and Elementary Education at Anna Maria College. Her favorite part of working at Sylvan Learning of Mount Dora & Tavares is building relationships with students and supporting them throughout their educational journeys. Outside of Sylvan, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her son and family, gardening, creating art, and fishing. She is always looking for ways to grow as an educator and discover new ways to help students succeed.

Miss Sonya brings a love of learning and connecting with others to the Sylvan Learning of Mount Dora & Tavares team. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Florida State University and enjoys meeting and getting to know fellow teachers. Outside of work, she is interested in meteorology and values her independence.

Miss Jenna brings a passion for education and helping students succeed to the Sylvan Learning of Mount Dora & Tavares team. She studied English Literature at High Point University and earned her teaching licensure from Mars Hill University. With classroom teaching experience, she especially enjoys working with small groups and providing students with personalized attention. Outside of Sylvan, Miss Jenna enjoys reading, watching movies, attending church, and dining out.

Miss Lisa brings 15 years of teaching experience and a passion for helping students build confidence and develop a love of learning to the Sylvan Learning of Mount Dora & Tavares team. She graduated from Georgian Court University with degrees in Elementary Education and English, as well as a Master’s degree in Special Education. Her favorite part of working at Sylvan is watching students grow and celebrate their accomplishments. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, watching movies, and trying new foods! She also hopes to travel more and experience new cultures!
