Meet the Sarasota team

As Executive Director and Owner, Christina works closely with the Center Director to insure all students get the best education possible. Christina studied Anthropology at the University of Georgia, and ultimately chose a career in education because she wanted to help students reach their full potential. She later received a professional certificate in High School Social Studies. Christina has over 17 years of experience with supplemental education. When Christina isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her enjoying the outdoors with her family and cheering for the New Orleans Saints!

Andrew serves as the Operations Manager and Creative Director for Sylvan Learning of Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota. Andrew has over 7 years of experience in the field of Education and graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education. Andrew is instrumental in the development of new initiatives and community support efforts for the Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota locations. Andrew joined Sylvan three years ago as a Center Director and has since been pivotal in the process of enhancing educational services and community outreach. Andrew’s dedication and expertise are key to Sylvan’s growth and success as a partner to the local community and schools. Outside of his professional role, Andrew enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying local beaches.

Jennifer has enjoyed working with Sylvan over the years in various roles and locations, including New Jersey, New Hampshire, and now is thrilled to be an instructor and Director of Education at our Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch locations in sunny Florida. Jennifer is a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Education and recently became a trained instructor of Orton Gillingham- a multisensory approach to learning phonics. Jennifer has a passion for instilling the love of learning in her students and teaches all grade levels and subjects. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys taking trips to the beach with her dogs and working out of her art studio.

Cheryl is our lead teacher at the Sarasota location and has over 5 years of Sylvan experience. Cheryl loves teaching reading and math skills to her elementary students. Cheryl has a passion for teaching and helping others. Nothing pleases her more than seeing the students bloom with confidence after mastering reading and math skills. When Cheryl isn’t teaching, she enjoys Jazzercise, cooking, and rooting for the Buffalo Bills!

Kyle is a teacher in Sarasota, FL with a gift for working with kids. While Kyle has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. He studied at University of Hawai'i. When Kyle isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him spending time with his dogs.
