Meet the Oviedo team

As a franchise co-owner, Jason heads up Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and Operations Support. He has a dual degree in marketing and international business and comes to the arena with corporate experience in both marketing and project management. In addition to business, he absolutely loves helping kids reach their potential! Building their academic confidence and increasing their skills. When outside of Sylvan, he loves to read books for fun, spend time with family, and watch a favorite show on a streaming service!

Deborah has been a teacher in the Seminole County Public Schools since 2016. She earned her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from UCF. She has taught and tutored students ranging from K-8 in both school and private settings. When Deborah is not at Sylvan, she loves to spend time with her family, working out, reading, and eating good food.

With a Masters in Education & 20+ years of education experience, Patti enjoys sharing the joy of reading with all her students. Having worked at Sylvan Oviedo for five years, she knows she is working with people that are truly focused on delivering quality with sensitivity & kindness. Outside of Sylvan, she enjoys spending time with family/friends, reading & volunteering at her church.

Lisa is a K-12 educator with 20 years of experience teaching elementary grades and ESOL in grades K-8. She attended Florida State University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Lisa also has the 300-hour ESOL endorsement. She has worked in Gadsden, Leon. Duval and Seminole counties. Lisa has always had a passion for teaching and gets excited when she sees a child succeed and get excited about learning!

Gianna is passionate about teaching in all areas and loves to help kids see learning in a new and exciting way rather than just trying to memorize information. Outside of Sylvan, you may find her at TJ Maxx or Disney Springs!

Matt is currently studying Photonic Sciences and Engineering at the University of Central Florida. His ultimate goal is to work with NASA on advanced telescope systems, contributing to the exploration and understanding of our universe. At Sylvan, Matt impacts students in positive ways through his patient, encouraging, and structured approach to learning. He is passionate about helping students build confidence while developing strong problem-solving skills. Outside of Sylvan, you can find Matt watching movies, competing in intramural sports, or cheering on the New Orleans Saints.

Isabella has a BA in English and Women's studies from Florida State University. Graduated Magna Cum Laude, and is currently studying her Masters in Literary, Cultural, and Textual Studies. Her ultimate dream is to be a professor teaching at the collegiate level. She impacts Sylvan students in positive ways, especially by being patient, kind, and encouraging. Outside of Sylvan, you may find her at Barnes & Noble, reading a good book, or writing her own stories.

Sydney is currently in her senior year at the UCF, where she is pursuing a degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders. Following graduation, she will pursue her master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology, with the goal of becoming a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist. Sydney is passionate about working with children and love watching their confidence grow as they develop their communication skills. It is incredibly important that every child has a voice and the skills needed to communicate, advocate for themselves, and pursue what they want in life. She hopes to make a meaningful impact on the children she works with and help them recognize their own potential. Outside of Sylvan, Sydney loves to hang out with friends, goo to Disney, and volunteer in the Orlando community.

Dustin is pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education from UCF. She has ambitions to become an elementary school teacher. She enjoys helping children learn new skills and build their confidence. Outside of Sylvan, you may find her reading, running, camping, or line dancing.

Ray is currently studying Mathematics at the University of Central Florida with ambitions for a master’s and PhD. Showing students math concept structure brings him joy. He strives to transfer this love of education to all his students. Outside of Sylvan, you can find Ray watching movies, playing volleyball, and writing short stories.
