Evelyn Ulloa is an experienced executive director with a background in marketing and communications. Her true passion lies in helping students achieve their academic goals and personal growth. She saw the opportunity to make a real impact on young lives. She now leads as the Director of the Sylvan Learning Center in North Miami/Aventura, where she is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for students to thrive. Evelyn believes in the power of personalized learning plans and individual attention. She knows that academic success isn’t just about teaching facts but also about building confidence and a love for learning. Evelyn stays updated with the latest educational trends to ensure the Sylvan Learning Center remains innovative and effective. Angelyne Garcia

Center Administrator

Angelyne is a dedicated professional with years of experience in early childhood education. Her passion for working with children is deeply rooted in her personal experiences, having needed special attention during her educational years. This background has fueled her desire to provide guidance and kindness to children facing similar challenges. In addition to her practical experience, Angelyne is a certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). As an RBT, she utilizes her skills to make a positive impact on the lives of the children she works with, helping them develop essential skills and reach their full potential. Angelyne’s journey in early childhood education is not just a profession; it’s a calling driven by empathy, understanding, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of children.

Juan Nuñez

Lead Tutor - Math & SAT PREP

My name is Juan Nuñez and I am a tutor at the Sylvan Learning Center of North Miami/Aventura teaching Math, Reading, and Writing. I graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences. I am a fan of all things math and I enjoy guiding students through these concepts with examples to ultimately help with their self-confidence and their academic development.”

Kenny Noel

Meet Kenny, our seasoned educator with over 8 years of experience in teaching Math, Science, and Social Studies in Florida. Since joining Sylvan in 2020, Kenny has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to addressing specific student needs. A graduate of Barry University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Pre-Medical Biology, Kenny is certified in Biology 6-12, English for speakers of other languages, and Elementary Education K-6.His passion for education is evident in his dynamic teaching style, fostering an environment where students not only grasp challenging concepts but also develop a genuine love for learning.

Teri Trese

Tutor

Teri, originally from Michigan, holds a Bachelor’s from Michigan State University and a Master’s from Oakland University. With 7 years of teaching experience, she excels in reading and math instruction at Sylvan Learning Center. When not teaching, she enjoys running, paddle boarding, and quality time with her three children. Teri’s guiding philosophy, inspired by B.B. King, is that learning is an enduring gift.

Melanie Norris

Tutor

Melanie Norris is a dedicated tutor located in Aventura, FL, known for her exceptional ability to connect with and inspire children. She possesses a wide range of tutoring skills, but her true passion lies in the realms of reading and writing education. Melanie also contributes to the Miami County School system as a History teacher, where she imparts her knowledge and passion for the subject to her students.

Omar Rodriguez

Tutor

Omar Rodriguez is a Math and reading tutor at Sylvan Learning in Aventura, FL with a gift for working with students from K to 12th grade. While Omar has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in Math tutoring. He studied Economics at Andrés Bello Catholic University In Venezuela. When Omar isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him enjoying a day at the beach enjoying some Venezuelan food.

Sam, a Math tutor at Sylvan in Aventura/North Miami, FL, specializes in SAT and ACT prep. While possessing diverse tutoring skills, Sam’s greatest satisfaction comes from guiding students toward success in their academic pursuits.
