We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Executive Director

Sachin has been responsible for starting the Sylvan Learning of Manteca & Ripon. He has enjoyed helping families achieve high academic goals for 20+ years. Sachin has a strong engineering/STEM background and helped guide large software teams on complex technology projects for 10+ years before starting Sylvan of Manteca & Ripon. He had recognized the impact a strong education foundation helped make for his own family and has helped guide the families we serve with the same zeal and passion. Besides enjoying his work at Sylvan, Sachin loves to spend time outdoors with his close family & friends and read about current events and technology trends worldwide.


Program Coordinator

Jessica recently joined the Sylvan Manteca team in 2023. As a Program Coordinator, she works with our families to provide guidance and feedback about their child’s progress and assists our excellent teachers in delivering high-quality personalized programs. Jessica holds a Masters in Research (Story Telling) from the University of Chester in the United Kingdom. Before that, she earned a Bachelor of History and a Bachelor of English from California State University, Stanislaus. She enjoys working with our young adults and especially seeing them succeed!



Christina has a Masters in Educational Psychology from Chapman University. She has been with Sylvan Manteca team for over a year. Christina loves providing counseling to families to facilitate the learning and development of students. She enjoys reading and working with students from all grades.



Melanie has been teaching Special Ed for over 25 years in the Manteca Unified School District. She has been with Sylvan Manteca since 2020 working virtually and in person with our students. She recieved her bachelor from California State University, Stanislaus and her teaching credential from Chapman University.When she was a child, she lived for two years in Australia. She has one son and one cat. She enjoys spending time at the beach with family.



Laurie is a recently retired elementary school teacher. She worked in MUSD for over 20 years and holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Laurie has spent most of her life in California, and spent her freshmen year of high school in Oxford, England. As a result, she has had the opportunity to travel in Western Europe extensively. Laurie has been married for 41 years and has two sons. She loves to travel and enjoys the outdoors, hiking, camping and kayaking. When she is not doing those activities, she loves to read.



2024 marks Brian’s 16th year with Sylvan of Manteca & Ripon and his 20th year with Manteca Unified School District. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah, his Teaching Credential from California State University, San Marcos, and his Master’s Degree from California State University, Fullerton. When he is not working, he enjoys playing with his dog, watching TV with family, reading, and hiking.



Nancy has been a teacher for 27 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a K-9th teaching credential from California State University, Chico. She taught kindergarten through second grade in the Sacramento and Elk Grove Unified School Districts. Now retired, she lives in the Manteca area. She has a married son and two grandsons. She loves teaching, spending time with her family and friends, bike riding, volunteering in the community, and playing with her little dog.



Cheryl has worked for Sylvan of Manteca & Ripon for 13 years. She has a bachelor from California State University, Stanislaus in Organizational Behavior and a master in Special Education from The University of San Francisco . She worked for Manteca Unified School District as a Special Day Class Teacher (SDC) for 12 years. She and her husband are now retired from teaching and living happily in the Manteca area.



Sarah currently teaches 2nd grade but has experience teaching from 1st through 4th grade. She has a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and is in her 8th year of teaching. On the weekends and over the summer, she enjoys spending time outside hiking, camping, and with her horse.
