Director

Courtney Wright Executive Director: As Executive Director, Courtney manages the day to day business for Sylvan of Rogers and Sylvan of Fort Smith. A former teacher of grades K-6 , Courtney chose a career in the tutoring business because she felt she could make a difference . Courtney studied at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, receiving her Masters in Education. When Courtney isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her two sons, 6 year old Easton and 14 year old Clayton, and her husband Kevin, at the local ball field, school and church activities.

Kathy Scott

Center Director

Director

As Center Director, Kathy leads the day-to-day responsibilities for Sylvan of Rogers.  Kathy has a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications and an Associates’s in Computer Networking. She spent a long career in Sales and Marketing, but after she retired, she decided to take up teaching.  She taught 7th grade math for several years.  Her greatest joy is seeing that “Aha” moment when Sylvan students realize they are “getting it” and their confidence grows! She graduated Cum Laude from Northeastern State University. When Kathy isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, traveling to visit her grandchildren, and swimming when weather permits.

Kelly Samuels

Kelly Samuel

Assistant Director

At Sylvan of Rogers, Dr. Kelly Samuel assists in leading the daily operations with a proven commitment to student success and family support. Her greatest joy is seeing children become success stories while parents gain peace of mind. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with the highest institutional and international honors. A licensed Master Teacher, she was also nominated for the prestigious Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Award by the Chamber of Commerce for helping students excel and develop a passion for learning. Recipient of the Dr. Glenn Dolence Leadership Award from Missouri Southern State University, Dr. Samuel brings over 30 years of combined expertise in education and executive leadership, ensuring excellence, innovation, and lasting impact for students and families.  In her spare time Kelly enjoys visiting with her church family and riding the bike trails with her husband and children.

Sabrina

Math Tutor, English Coach, ACT/SAT Tutor, Calculus Tutor, Geometry Teacher, Algebra Teacher, Academic Coach

Sabrina has her degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education.  She enjoys helping students be successful in their education and loves the one on one time she can spend with them at Sylvan.  When Sabrina isn’t helping students at Sylvan, you’ll find her at the dog park with her basset and corgi, spending time with her family and friends, or just relaxing with a good book.

English Teacher, Writing Teacher, Math Tutor, Academic Coach

Barb has a master’s degree in Education and has been a public school teacher for 39 years.  She loves the personal interaction she gets when working with Sylvan students.  She enjoys the interaction and loves how students can be real, funny, and insightful.  Barb loves dogs and in her spare time, she likes to read or do Sudoku puzzles.

Elizabeth

English Teacher, Math Tutor, ACT/SAT Instructor, Writing Coach

Elizabeth has a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Drama.  She enjoys working at Sylvan and puts effort and care into helping children learn new skills.  She wants to help students understand and love learning no matter what the difficulty.  Elizabeth is also a published author of two Young Adult novels and an instructional book for parents on Manga.  In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys playing with her dogs, reading, sewing, and watching anime.

Zoe

Reading Teacher, English Teacher, Writing Teacher

Zoe has been working in the Education field for Six years.  She loves working at Sylvan because she can make “independent students who love to read”.  She has her bachelor’s in English and Spanish and holds and Honors Fellows Award.  Zoe also loves working with animals and a little known secret of hers is she can laugh like a dolphin!

Skyler Fisk

Reading Teacher, Writing Teacher, Literacy Tutor

Skyler currently teaches 5th grade in NWA focusing on English Language Arts and Social Studies.  She chose Sylvan because she believes in Sylvan’s Vision, “Success with Every Student”.  She holds a Bachelors in English along with her Teaching Certification.  One of the things Skyler is most proud of is that she was able to study abroad at Oxford University.  She considers herself a “superfan” for her kids’ sporting events such as kayaking, hiking, and basketball.  She enjoys reading whenever she gets the chance.

Shelagh

Reading Teacher, English Teacher, Study Skills Tutor

Shelagh has her master’s degree in Instructional Leadership and Human Resources.  She has taught in California and Arkansas.  She loves working at Sylvan and seeing a child’s growth in education and confidence soar!  Shelagh loves to travel, read books, and go to live theater.  She also enjoys watching hockey when she gets the chance

Maggie Johnson

Math Tutor, Reading Teacher, Writing Teacher

Maggie has been an educator for 18 years in SW Missouri teaching History, English, and Mathematics.  She loves to see students’ confidence grow as they master skills.  She received her BSE from MSSU in 2007 and has the distinct pleasure of winning Teacher of the Year 3 times.  In her spare time, Maggie loves to read, tinker in her garden and travel when she gets the chance.
