I’m excited to be a part of Sylvan Rosedale and support families and students along their learning journey.

David Rego
Teacher
My name is David. I have a Master’s degree and Bachelor of Arts from York University in their English literature programs. I specialize in 18th and 20th century European literature.
I have years of experience in tutoring, and as a teaching assistant in university courses. I help students read closely to find themes and arguments, teach them grammar and punctuation, and compose well-crafted papers for all levels between elementary school and Grade 12. I can help write assignments for a variety of subjects, including literature, history, social science, lab reports, and class presentations.
What I love about tutoring and teaching the most is watching a student build their reading and writing confidence each session. When they develop their strong writing voices, they can show me how insightful and creative their work is, teaching me things even I never considered before. I hope to impart the same love of reading and writing to students that I have developed during my time as an educator.

Vrinda Bansal
Teacher
Hi! I am Vrinda, a passionate math educator with over 7 years of experience helping students from all grade levels build confidence and mastery in mathematics. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Cross-Disciplinary Sciences, and my journey into teaching began in high school when I was invited to help younger students and I haven’t stopped since.
What makes my approach unique is that I’ve been in my students’ shoes. In grade 6, math wasn’t my strongest subject, and that experience shaped how I teach today. I understand the frustration and confusion that can come with learning math, and I use that empathy to guide students through their own challenges.
My teaching style is never one-size-fits-all. I tailor each session to the individual student, adapting my methods to suit their learning style, pace, and goals. Whether it’s breaking down complex concepts or finding creative ways to make math engaging, I believe that once a student truly understands the concept, the questions will solve themselves.

Reezwan Sami
Teacher
My name is Reezwan, and I am an undergraduate Industrial Engineering student at the University of Toronto, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Applied Machine Learning.
I have over seven years of experience as a tutor, during which I have taught a variety of curricula, including the British Middle-School, O and A Levels, IB, SATs, APs, and the Ontario curriculum, with a focus on high school STEM topics—calculus being my personal favorite.
My journey as an educator began in grade 9 when I started helping my peers by introducing creative and foundational approaches to learning. What I love most about tutoring is witnessing the “Ah yes!” moments when students truly grasp a concept. These moments inspire my passion for teaching and remind me of the joy that comes from helping others gain confidence and achieve their goals.

Trenton Ford
Teacher
My name is Trenton Ford. I am an IB PYP teacher at MacLachlan College with a strong commitment to fostering inquiry, creativity, and lifelong learning in the classroom. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Education from York University, with certification in the Primary and Junior divisions.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that meaningful learning happens when students are encouraged to ask questions, explore big ideas, and connect their learning to the world around them. I’ve completed specialized IB training through Upper Canada College’s Professional Development program for teachers, which has deepened my understanding of the IB framework and strengthened my ability to create engaging, globally minded, and reflective learning experiences.
As an educator, I strive to create a supportive environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.

My name is Hannah. I have an undergraduate degree in Science and completed my Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University. I am an Ontario Certified Teacher with a focus on mathematics, and I also have additional training in special education and trauma-informed practices.
I have experience supporting learners from elementary through high school, helping them strengthen their math skills, develop problem-solving strategies, and build confidence in their abilities. I also bring a strong background in working with students who require individualized support, ensuring that each learner has the tools they need to succeed.
What I love most about teaching and tutoring is watching students go from feeling unsure to proud of their accomplishments. Seeing their confidence grow as they tackle new challenges in math is incredibly rewarding, and I strive to create a supportive environment where every student feels capable of success.
