Moath Yousef
Centre Director
Director
As Executive Director of the North Edmonton, South Edmonton, and Leduc Sylvan Learning Centres, Moath Yousef leads with a deep commitment to helping families make informed, confident decisions about their children’s education. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a leading U.S. institution and brings a strong academic foundation together with years of hands-on experience supporting students across a wide range of ages and learning needs.
In his role as Executive Director, Yousef oversees centre operations, educational programming, staff development, and community outreach across all three locations. He works closely with families and educators to ensure each student receives a personalized learning plan that addresses both academic performance and confidence-building. With over a decade of experience teaching advanced mathematics, science, and literacy skills, Yousef has helped countless students close learning gaps and achieve lasting academic success.
Known for his clear communication, thoughtful mentorship, and results-driven leadership, Yousef is dedicated to maintaining high educational standards and a supportive learning environment at every Sylvan centre he leads. His goal is simple: to ensure every student reaches their full potential and every parent feels informed, supported, and confident in their child’s learning journey.

Colton Benusic
Tutor
Colton Benusic joined the South Edmonton Sylvan team in 2025 and is currently completing a dual major in Mathematics and Physics. He has a genuine passion for education and believes that learning should be both effective and enjoyable.
Colton is committed to helping students succeed by recognizing that every learner is unique. He tailors his approach to fit each student’s learning style, offering personalized support and strategies to help them build skills and confidence.
Outside of Sylvan, Colton enjoys traveling (whether by bike around the city or exploring new places abroad), playing music, and spending plenty of time with his beloved cats. His love for math and physics shines through in his teaching, where he excels at turning challenging problems into approachable, confidence-building opportunities for students.

Jessica Gingras
Tutor
Jessica is passionate about inspiring a love of learning in every student she works with. With experience teaching all grade levels—from kindergarten to high school—she brings a broad understanding of how students grow and learn at each stage.
She holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in History and a minor in Biological Sciences, and she has tutored Math at various grade levels.
Jessica’s goal is to help students develop learning strategies that build confidence and independence. She believes in offering multiple ways to approach a problem so that each student can discover what works best for them. She’s excited to guide students in a small-group setting and support them in reaching their full potential as lifelong learners.

Dylan Mathew
Tutor
Dylan is a dedicated student at the University of Alberta majoring in Pure Mathematics, with a particular interest in Galois theory. He has extensive experience working with students of all ages, especially at the high school level, and is passionate about helping learners achieve clarity and confidence in challenging topics. One of his favourite moments as a tutor is witnessing the “aha” moment when a student connects ideas and gains true understanding.
Beyond teaching, Dylan enjoys exploring abstract mathematical and scientific concepts in his spare time. Outside of academics, his interests include weightlifting, gardening, and hiking. A fun fact about Dylan is that he speaks Ukrainian, Russian, Turkish, and Polish.
