Moath Yousef
Centre Director
Director
As Centre Director and Director of Education at South Edmonton Sylvan Learning Centre, Moath Yousef leads with a passion for helping families make informed, confident decisions about their children’s education. Holding a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a leading U.S. institution, Moath combines a strong academic background with years of hands-on experience supporting students of all ages.
In his dual role, Moath is responsible for overseeing all centre operations, educational programming, and community outreach initiatives. He works closely with families to assess each student’s unique needs and guide them toward the best path for academic growth and personal confidence. With over a decade of experience in teaching advanced mathematics, science, and literacy skills, Moath has a proven track record of closing learning gaps and helping students build lasting success.
Known for his clear communication, thoughtful mentorship, and results-driven leadership, Moath ensures that every student at Sylvan receives a personalized, effective learning experience — and that every parent feels supported in their journey to unlock their child’s potential.

Colton Benusic
Tutor
Colton Benusic joined the South Edmonton Sylvan team in 2025 and is currently completing a dual major in Mathematics and Physics. He has a genuine passion for education and believes that learning should be both effective and enjoyable.
Colton is committed to helping students succeed by recognizing that every learner is unique. He tailors his approach to fit each student’s learning style, offering personalized support and strategies to help them build skills and confidence.
Outside of Sylvan, Colton enjoys traveling (whether by bike around the city or exploring new places abroad), playing music, and spending plenty of time with his beloved cats. His love for math and physics shines through in his teaching, where he excels at turning challenging problems into approachable, confidence-building opportunities for students.

Jessica Gingras
Tutor
Jessica is passionate about inspiring a love of learning in every student she works with. With experience teaching all grade levels—from kindergarten to high school—she brings a broad understanding of how students grow and learn at each stage.
She holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in History and a minor in Biological Sciences, and she has tutored Math at various grade levels.
Jessica’s goal is to help students develop learning strategies that build confidence and independence. She believes in offering multiple ways to approach a problem so that each student can discover what works best for them. She’s excited to guide students in a small-group setting and support them in reaching their full potential as lifelong learners.

Miguel Ancheta
Tutor
Miguel is a passionate and knowledgeable tutor with a background in Chemical Engineering. He has worked with students and youth for many years through volunteering and extracurricular programs, and he is dedicated to helping learners achieve their academic goals.
Miguel believes that a positive and supportive learning environment is key to success, and he brings patience and encouragement to every tutoring session.
Outside of tutoring, Miguel enjoys caring for his pet turtle and snake. In his free time, he loves watching anime, playing badminton, and enjoying a good bowl of ramen.

Dana George
Tutor
Dana joined the South Edmonton Sylvan team in 2025, bringing over four years of teaching experience and a deep passion for helping students succeed. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and is currently pursuing an After-Degree in Education at the University of Alberta.
Dana believes that every student has unique strengths and learning styles. She is dedicated to meeting learners where they are and helping them build both academic skills and confidence. Her goal is to make learning engaging, supportive, and empowering for every student she works with.
Outside of Sylvan, Dana enjoys watching movies, exploring new cafés and restaurants, and discovering hidden gems around the city.
