Our tutors and staff in North East Calgary consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in North East Calgary know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Jess Lacasse
Center Director
Director
Jess is the Centre Director for Sylvan of NE Calgary. A former learning assistant, Jess chose a career with Sylvan Learning because she loves working with families and values excellent education. She graduated from the Social Work program at Mount Royal University. When Jess isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her playing video games, or spending time with family and friends.
Gagan Sarai
Teacher
Gagan is a dedicated tutor with a gift of working with kids at Sylvan of Northeast Calgary. While she has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in sciences and language arts. She recently graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is now pursuing a Bachelor of Midwifery at Mount Royal University. Gagan is also able to provide instruction in Punjabi and Hindi. When Gagan isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her watching movies or reading books.
Shaima Rahmani
Teacher
Shaima Rahmani is an elementary teacher in Calgary, Canada with a gift for working with kids. While Shaima has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in language arts and social studies tutoring. She also studied at Mount Royal University. When she isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading thriller books and spending time with family and friends.
Ruchika Sharma
Teacher
Ruchika is a dedicated educator with over 4 years of teaching experience. Holding a Master’s degree in Mathematics, she is passionate about nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning. Ruchika is an Alberta certified teacher, known for her commitment to excellence in education and her ability to inspire students to excel in the field of mathematics. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, volunteering and exploring new teaching methodologies.
Urvashi Sareen
Teacher
Urvashi is an amazing teacher here at Sylvan Learning of NE Calgary. She has special expertise in Math and Science. Urvashi is patient, empathtic, adaptable, and enthusiastic. She has a love of learning, strong communication skills, respect for students, the ability to build rapport, is an active listener, and is committed to student growth. Urvashi especially excels in being able to connect with students while creating a supportive learning environment through understanding and flexibility. She also studied at M.S.University. When Urvashi isn’t at Sylvan, you can find her listening to music, enjoying the outdoors, and cooking.
Komalpreet Kaur
Teacher
Komalpreet is one of our dedicated teachers here at Sylvan Learning NE, with strong expertise in Math, English, and Science. Known for her patient and encouraging approach, she connects easily with kids and helps them feel confident in their learning. She studied at SAIT College and also completed a degree in Mathematics and Computing. Outside of Sylvan, Komalpreet enjoys arts and crafts, reading, and spending time outdoors.
