Scholarship options for Florida families

Step Up administers several Florida scholarship programs. Here’s what families should know:

ages 3 – grade 12PEP Scholarship

Personalized Education Program — designed for eligible students in approved education settings.

  • Students age 3 through grade 12 (or up to age 22)
  • Students with a specific documented diagnosis (when applicable)

College funding

Bright Futures Scholarship Program

Bright Futures is separate from Step Up and provides college funding based on academic performance.

General requirements

To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Florida resident and U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
  • Complete the FFAA during senior year (Oct 1, 2025 – Aug 31, 2026)
  • Earn a standard Florida high school diploma
  • Have no felony conviction (unless granted clemency)
  • Be accepted and enrolled in an eligible Florida postsecondary institution
  • Enroll in at least six non-remedial credit hours per term
  • If not funded immediately after graduation, apply within five years
While Bright Futures applies to college tuition, academic support now can strengthen SAT performance and long-term readiness.
