Meet Our Team

The owner of Sylvan Learning Center of the Tri-Cities.

As Center Director, Brett leads the everyday operations and education for Sylvan of Tri-Cities. A former instructor at WSU- Tri-Cities, Brett chose a career in the tutoring business to help more students improve academically for long-term success. He earned degrees from the University of California – Davis, University of Alabama, and Washington State University. When Brett isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him spending time with his children, reading, or camping.

Elizabeth

Lead Teacher

Elizabeth loves being a teacher at Sylvan! She enjoys tutoring students in reading, writing, math, and homework support. Elizabeth earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Willamette University and has her teaching certificate.  When Elizabeth isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her traveling in her free time, reading, or singing!

Shanelle

Certified Teacher

Shanelle loves getting to know each of our students and helping them become lifelong learners. She attended Washington State University Tri-Cities and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Shanelle joined our Sylvan team to teach reading, writing, and mathematics. When not at Sylvan, Shanelle enjoys spending time with her family.

Meredith is a former mathematics teacher with experience teaching SAT preparation courses. In addition to math, she also enjoys learning languages. For three years she lived and worked abroad, where she was an English copy editor for scientific publications.

Tim is a teacher from Prosser, WA with a gift for working with kids. While Tim has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy tutoring Math and Science. He studied at The University of Arizona. When Tim isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him volunteering at local school districts’ STEM and literacy nights, photographing the night sky when it is clear, on his bicycle when it is warm, and in the mountains snowshoeing in the winter.

Pam is a substitute teacher in Kennewick, WA with a gift for working with kids. While Pam has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in reading and language arts tutoring. She studied at Western Washington University. When Pam isn’t at Sylvan you’ll find her reading, traveling, watching sports, and solving all kinds of puzzles.

Jeremy is a tutor at the Kennewick and Richland, Wa. Sylvan centers with a gift of working with struggling students. While Jeremy has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in English/ Language Arts tutoring. When Jeremy isn’t tutoring, you would find him reading and studying history.
