We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Danielle Garner
Executive Director/Franchisee
Director
Danielle Garner currently holds a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the Julliard School and a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance with a minor in History and Political Science from Washington State University. She found her love for teaching while working as a director with local children’s theaters and coaching sports! Danielle has taught for 6 years as a K-12 teacher in our area, both as a substitute and as a full-time teacher! Danielle also recently got her Ph.D. in Music. When she is not at the Center, she can be found singing, racing hydroplanes around the country, or going on adventures around the PNW with her two bunnies, Hermes and Percy.

Cameron Mendoza
Director of Education
Cameron is a teacher at Sylvan Learning Center of Bellingham, WA who is passionate about helping students become lifelong learners and nurturing a growth mindset in her students. While she loves working with students in many subjects, she especially loves helping students find joy and confidence in reading! She has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Western Washington University and received a teaching certification in English Language Arts from the Woodring College of Education. Outside of teaching, you can find Cameron at the library or spending time with her two cats.

Mike Andrews
Teacher
Mike Andrews was born and raised in Bellingham, WA. He has wanted to be an educator since elementary school, frequently providing his class with lessons on mythology and history to share his interests and inspire others to learn. He received his Bachelors in History degree at Western Washington university in 2016. Having had the privilege to study abroad in Prague, Czechia during that time, he later returned with his wife to teach full-time history and English language classes in Prague from 2019-2020. Currently, Mike is working on attaining his Masters in teaching. Mike loves to play video games, watch sci-fi films, or spend the day with his wife and two cats!
