Melissa Jacobs

Center Director

Melissa is the Center Director of the Sylvan Learning Centers in Waco and Woodway, where she leads with passion, dedication, and a deep commitment to student success. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University and brings both leadership and organizational expertise to her role. With over 5 years at Sylvan, Melissa is detail-oriented, creative, and highly driven—traits that carry through in everything she does. In her spare time, she enjoys racing, fishing, hunting, baking, and cooking. At Sylvan, the highlight of her day is welcoming students into the center, partnering closely with families, and helping set every child up for long-term success.

Jeannie Frost

Certified Tutor

Jeannie Frost has over 27 years of teaching experience and holds certifications in Early Childhood, Physical Education, Education, and Health. She is a graduate of Tarleton State University with a degree in Kinesiology and Education, and also of McLennan Community College with a degree in Business. She loves working with the students at Sylvan and watching them succeed. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports, and kayaking on the lake.

Eshella Jackson

Certified Tutor

Eshella Jackson is a passionate educator who specializes in reading, math, technology, and early reading development. She holds a Bachelor of General Studies in Education and is EC–4 grade certified, bringing a strong foundation in early childhood instruction. Eshella is dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that helps young learners build confidence and essential skills. Outside the classroom, she enjoys cooking, singing, and gardening, interests that reflect her creativity and nurturing approach to teaching.

Colby McFarland

Certified Tutor

Colby McFarland is a dedicated tutor specializing in core subjects including English, math, and science. He is a certified substitute teacher and CPR certified, bringing both instructional expertise and a strong commitment to student safety and success. Colby enjoys making learning engaging and approachable for every student. Outside the classroom, he loves playing games, chess, and swimming, which helps him connect easily with students and encourage a balanced approach to learning.

Jacob Lowe

Certified Tutor

Jacob Lowe specializes in mathematics and is passionate about helping students develop strong problem-solving skills and confidence in the subject. He holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington. Jacob enjoys breaking down complex mathematical concepts into clear, understandable steps that help students succeed. Outside of tutoring, he enjoys writing, graphic design, and playing tabletop role-playing games, hobbies that reflect his creativity and analytical thinking.

Annlyn Ganz

Certified Tutor

Annlyn Ganz is a passionate educator who tutors students in math, science, English, and reading. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Biola University and enjoys helping students strengthen their academic skills while building confidence in the classroom. Annlyn believes in making learning engaging and supportive so every student can reach their potential. In her free time, she enjoys baking, hiking, and reading.
