Our tutors and staff in York consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in York know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Lauren Webster
Owner/Franchisee
Lauren graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Penn State University. She started at Sylvan as a tutor in 2014. Lauren and her husband, Mike, became owners of the Palmyra and Lancaster locations in June of 2017. They took over the York location in June of 2019 and opened Mechanicsburg in July of 2021.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and watching her daughter grow!
Mike Webster
Owner/Franchisee
Mike is a 2008 Graduate of Cedar Crest High School and Career and Technology Center as a certified Electrician. He has operated his father’s construction company for the past seven years as the Vice President and Director of Operations As of June 1, 2017 he is the Secretary and Treasurer of Webster Associates, Inc. which does business as Sylvan Learning Center. In his free time Mike enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
Amanda Young
Center Director
Amanda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from York College of PA. Later in her career, she received her Principal certification from Immaculata University. Amanda spent 15 years as an elementary classroom teacher and was a principal for 6 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, going for walks with her dog, Babe, and traveling to the beach.
Heather Konhaus
Director of Education
Heather has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Art Education, grades k through twelve. Before coming to Sylvan Heather has been a classroom art teacher to students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade, worked for a before and after school program at a daycare center, worked as a student services coordinator and an education and outreach coordinator for a community art organization.
