Summer Camps and Workshops

These sessions are designed to combine academics with a touch of fun. If you are interested in a particular session but the dates or times do not work with your family’s schedule, please let us know ([email protected]) as we may be able to offer alternate times or days.

Arithmetic (Grades 1st-3rd, 4th-5th, 6th-9th)

Looking to strengthen your child’s basic arithmetic, like addition and multiplication, or even extending these operations to fractions and decimals; Sylvan Learning Center is the place to be. We can help your child improve in these areas through engaging hands-on activities. Students will be grouped by skill level.

Offered at $480 for 12 hours

READ AHEAD (K-1st)

This camp is designed to help the beginning reader develop the building blocks for early reading and writing skills through fun, multi-sensory activities.

I LOVE TO READ! BOOK CLUB (2nd-3rd,4th-6th, 6th-8th)

Our fun reading camp will motivate your child to read this summer. Together with our teachers, participants will read and explore the characters, plot, and story elements of various books and stories. They will also work on creative projects inspired by the stories.

Offered at $400 for 10 hours

July 14-August 13

Algebra for all (Grades 9th-12th)

Algebra is the gateway for not only higher-level math and sciences but also crucial to success in college. Let Sylvan be your child’s personal trainer this summer. This camp will concentrate on the benchmark skills that contribute to success in Algebra. Incorporating hands on activities to ensure a fun learning environment and out of the box thinking. Students will be grouped by skill level.

Offered at $720 for 18 hours

Morning and evening hours available in August.

THE “WRITE” STUFF (4th-9th)

Sylvan’s Writing Camp will help your student learn strategic and creative writing techniques to boost confidence not only in Language Arts, but ALL subject areas. Our expert teachers will coach participants through an array of engaging writing activities, providing them with the skills and techniques to compose and edit various types of pieces.

Offered at $480 for 12 hours

You may choose your own hours.

BACK TO SCHOOL BOOT CAMP (5TH-8th)

School can be an exciting but challenging time for students. They have to adjust to new environments, take on more responsibilities, and handle heavier workloads. Students will receive personal attention and set goals for the upcoming year, as well as practice strategies to address learning preferences.

ENGLISH 101 (10th-12th)

This camp is designed to sharpen the writing, research, and analysis skills that are needed to succeed for high school and beyond. College application essays may also be worked on in this workshop.

SAT OR ACT PREP

Sylvan’s 28 hour SAT or ACT course will prepare your student to take this college entrance exam. Key concepts and strategies will be reviewed and practiced. Students will gain access to our online SYLVAN PREP site, which provides practice problems, tutorials, vocabulary exercises, and additional practice tests. A free practice exam will be given before the course begins. Course will be completed prior to August 15, 2026 SAT summer test date. The scheduled dates and hours include two free practice test dates (Aug. 6 (Initial Practice Test) and second date -TBD); these are NOT included in the 28 hours of instruction.
