Our tutors and staff in Mechanicsburg consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Mechanicsburg know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Lauren Webster
Owner/Franchisee
Lauren graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Penn State University. She started at Sylvan as a tutor in 2014. Lauren and her husband, Mike, became owners of the Palmyra and Lancaster locations in June of 2017. They took over the York location in June of 2019 and opened Mechanicsburg in July of 2021.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and watching her daughters grow!
Mike Webster
Owner/Franchisee
Mike is a 2008 Graduate of Cedar Crest High School and Career and Technology Center as a certified Electrician. He has operated his father’s construction company for the past seven years as the Vice President and Director of Operations As of June 1, 2017 he is the Secretary and Treasurer of Webster Associates, Inc. which does business as Sylvan Learning Center. In his free time Mike enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
Steph Coons
Center Director
Steph received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Stockton University. Steph has worked as a lead teacher in preschools for 6 years, and has advanced knowledge and experience in Early Childhood Education, along with state certified trainings and attending professional workshops. It has always been her dream job to be a Center Director, and now she has the opportunity to fulfill her lifelong dream! In her free time, she loves to crochet, read, do puzzles and diamond art, and bake!
Amanda Sleinkofer
Director of Education
Amanda received her Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from Millersville University and her Master’s degree in Geography from Ohio University. During her two years at Ohio University, Amanda was a teaching assistant and found a new passion for education. This inspired her to join Sylvan as a tutor and SAT instructor in 2020, where she was quickly invited to join the director team! In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with family and friends, biking, doing outdoor activities, and riding roller coasters.
