Amy Paradis

Hi families! My name is Amy Paradis and along with my husband Eric, we are the owners of Sylvan Learning West Linn, Sylvan Learning Beaverton and Class 101. I am an Oregon native with a heart for numbers, people, and community.
After spending more than a decade in the accounting world, I realized I wanted to make an impact in a different way. I found myself looking for something that connected me more deeply with families in my community and gave me the chance to truly help kids grow.
That opportunity arrived when one of my best friends from high school, the Sylvan Learning of Bend franchise owner, Audra Bohn introduced me to the world of Sylvan. It was the perfect fit: a brand with a reputation I trust and a mission that I am passionate about.
Since Audra launched me into the Sylvan world, we started with West Linn. We slowly expanded to Beaverton and decided to take them both on. Somewhere along the way, Eric and I decided to pick up the sister brand franchise and start a college prep business called Class 101. We have a passion for education!
As much fun as we were having, Audra refocused her goals to her Bend center, and I brought on a new Sylvan business partner: My husband Eric. He decided to do the bravest thing and invest in us, and we have been partners for over a year now.
For me, Sylvan has always been about the students and their families. If I can help a child reach a goal, or help parents feel supported, then I feel like I’ve achieved something meaningful.
Most importantly, I chose this path because it makes me genuinely happy. I believe that when you love what you do, it doesn’t really feel like work – and I get to feel that every day. I can’t wait to share the world of Sylvan with you and give you meaningful insights into your child’s learning development. Stop by the office sometime and say hi!
