Lisa Yeung

Center Director

As Center Director, Lisa leads many responsibilities for Sylvan of Port Washington. A former speech language pathologist, Lisa chose a career in the tutoring business because she loves working with children. She studied at Queens College for her undergraduate degree, and New York University for her graduate degree. When Lisa isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her son, Carter.

Wing Ng

Hi, I’m Wing and I’m the Owner/Operator and I also teach math and STEM classes here at Sylvan of Port Washington. Lisa and I opened the center in November and we couldn’t be happier. I help with a lot of the behind the scenes work to keep the center ahead of the curve and help our students succeed. I received a Bachelor of Science from Binghamton University and a Masters of Business Administration from Fordham University.  I also hold the Series 6, 7 and 63 licenses.  When I’m not at the center, you can usually find me spending time with my son, playing baseball.

Anthony Imburgia

Sylvan Teacher

My name is Anthony Imburgia and I have been teaching at Sylvan for close to a year now. I obtained my teaching certification at SUNY Old Westbury in Elementary Education. I am currently working towards acquiring my Master’s degree through SUNY Albany’s Distanced Learning program. I have also taught grades K-6 in different public schools on Long Island. With my free time I like to perform/record/write music, play basketball and play guitar/sing in my band, Dirty Red Dress.

Jill Mellow

Sylvan Teacher

My name is Jill Mellow and I am a teacher at Sylvan Learning in Port Washington. I have a Master’s degree in Education from American University and a Master’s degree in Administration from Touro College. I have taught students of all ages from Pre-K to adults. I am thrilled to now be working with the Port Washington community. When I am not at the Center, I like to spend time with my family, bake and go to Mets games.

Robert Danziger

Sylvan Teacher

Hello! I have a BA in Political Science (with a minor in History) from Adelphi University and an MA in Political Science from LIU Post. I’ve worked in various levels of government, including a United States Senator, Old Bethpage Village Restoration and the United States Merchant Marine Academy over the years. I was a founding member of my high school’s robotics club, and I couldn’t be more excited to help kids build their own robots! I have a keen interest in science, especially physics. For fun I love playing music with bands and orchestras (where I’m usually playing tuba, and also teaching lower brass instruments), seeing friends and family, getting sidetracked learning something new and exciting and playing video games.

Cindy Gerber

Sylvan Teacher

Cindy Gerber graduated with honors from Skidmore College, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education Studies. During her time at Skidmore, Cindy minored in both English and Spanish, studied abroad in Europe, sang in an a cappella group, and worked in numerous school settings. Cindy plans to earn her Master of Science in Education in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL) at Hofstra University. She currently teaches kindergarten at The Neighborhood Charter School of Harlem.
