Melissa Britner
Director of Education
Melissa oversees the educational integrity of our programs, managing and training our team of tutors in Greenville . A former public educator in North Carolina, Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Greenville. She graduated from East Carolina University. When Melissa isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with family & friends and walking her dog Ginger! .

Ashley
Instructor
Ashley is the Lead Tutor at Sylvan and tutored in many areas including ACT/SAT, college essay writing and Doctoral Work for PhD candidates. She has taught high school social studies for 10 years including AP Psychology, AP Human Geography, and American History. She has also taught the Reading and English portions of SAT/ACT prep classes and webinars.
She is a dog mom to Bentley and Birdie and enjoys time together during walks in the park. She also enjoys reading and has recently picked up embroidery as a hobby.

Elaine
Instructor
Elaine is one of our K-3 reading gurus! She had taught elementary school for 28 years before recently retiring. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and reading.
Elaine enjoys watching student’s learn new things and finds it to be the most inspiring moment in teaching.

Victoria
Instructor
Victoria is a 5th grade teacher in Greenville, NC with a gift for working with kids. While Victoria has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in reading tutoring. When Victoria isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her ziplining, hiking, and going for walks in nature.

Aiden
Tutor
Aiden is a high school math teacher in Greenville, NC with a gift for working with kids. While Aiden has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in math II and math III tutoring. He studied at East Carolina University. When Aiden isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him watching football and playing video games.

Olu
Tutor
Olu is a mathematics educator that has been teaching mathematics for 25 years. She loves teaching math to both children and pre-service teachers. In addition, Olu also likes supporting teachers with their classroom practices and helping support students with the development of their mathematical thinking.
Helen
Tutor
With 18 years of experience in the classroom, Helen is a passionate educator who finds joy in helping students unlock the magic of stories and words. When she’s not teaching or tutoring, you can find her trying new restaurants or making memories with her family. Her love for learning fuels her vibrant, hands-on approach to education.

Tina
Tutor
Tina is a retired Intervention teacher who just relocated to Greenville from Charlotte, NC. She had many positions throughout her 40 years career, but her favorite was working with struggling students. She loves spending time with her grandsons, playing tennis, working out and puzzling. She’s also excited to live close to the beach!
Claire
Tutor
Claire is an ECU student studying English and earth science. She loves helping students understand and improve their reading skills. When she’s not at Sylvan, Claire can be found playing with her pet birds and watercolor painting.
Ashley L.
Ashley is a 4th grade teacher in Greenville, NC. She loves helping students succeed and her heart grows every time a student “gets” a concept. When she isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time with her family and dog.

Kate
Kate is an Elementary Education major at ECU with a concentration in Math. Her dream is to teach 2nd grade. When not in school or at Sylvan, you can find Kate hanging out with friends or playing guitar.
