Meet Our Team

Scott St. Pierre is the Director of Sylvan Learning in Metairie, where he oversees the day-to-day operations of the center and supports students in reaching their fullest potential. With over 25 years of experience in education as a principal, teacher, athletic director, and coach, Scott brings a wealth of leadership and dedication to the Sylvan team. He holds a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor’s in Social Studies Education from Southeastern Louisiana University. Passionate about helping children grow academically and personally, Scott finds joy in seeing students gain both knowledge and confidence. Outside of Sylvan, he enjoys golf and spending time with his wife, Kendra, and their three daughters, Gabrielle, Sydney, and Aubrey. Active in his community, Scott teaches CCD at his church and participates in the men’s group That Man Is You, which focuses on service and outreach.

Mark Blandford leads Sylvan Learning of Metairie with a passion for helping students build
confidence and achieve lasting academic success. With an MBA and years of experience
coaching and developing professionals, Mark knows how to inspire growth at every stage of
learning. He is dedicated to partnering with families to ensure every child discovers their
potential. Outside of Sylvan, Mark enjoys New Orleans’ food and music scene and competes as
an avid tennis player.

Jazmin is a teacher in Metairie, LA with a gift for working with kids. While Jazmin has many
tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. She studied at Xavier University. When Jazmin isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her listening to music.

Gerlinda is an amazing tutor in Metairie, LA. She has special expertise in reading and math tutoring. Friendly and kind, Gerlinda has a great ability to relate to kids. She studied at Xavier University and completed her Doctorate of Education at Holy Cross University. When Geri isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading.
