Meet Our Team

Seth Patrick

Executive Director

Hello! Seth oversees the educational integrity of our programs and managing/training our team of tutors in Gainesville. Seth brings a wealth of knowledge to Sylvan of Gainesville. He graduated from Manchester University in Indiana. When Seth isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him playing golf or doing mathematics. Furthermore, Seth oversees all of the academic programs in our center and works with the Center Director to prepare progress reports to present to families each month. Seth also supervises our instruction floor and helps our students grow in order to achieve their goals! He is very dedicated to his position and is ready to serve you in any way that he can. Welcome to the Sylvan Family!!!!

Charlotte Davis

Teacher

Charlotte has worked at Sylvan for 11 months.  Her expertise in Reading Remediation has been a great asset in helping students of all ages and curriculums.  She attended Illinois State University where she earned her BA in Education in Spanish and German.  She also has her Masters in Reading and Education Administration from Western Illinois University.  She has spent 32 years in education, with 7 of those years with ViPKID online English.  She enjoys working with children and watching them grow and improve in their educational goals.  Her greatest accomplishment was presenting at the State and Regional Reading Conferences.  When Mrs. Charlotte is not at Sylvan, you can find her reading, playing Ukulele, doing crafts, or playing a round of golf.

Lonell Pontoo

Teacher

Lonell has taught at Sylvan since 2020 and uses his vast knowledge of mathematics to help students achieve their goals.   He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from South Carolina State University in 1983. He also earned his Masters of Education Degree with a concentration in Mathematics from South Carolina State University in 1987. He also Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College to obtain an Associate Degree in Business with a concentration in Computer Technology in 1990.   He enjoys enhancing his students’ understanding of mathematics and likes to see the students understand a topic/problem that gave them trouble in the past.   When Mr. Lonell is not teaching he can be found watching sports or listening to various kinds of music.

Sheri Patzwald

Sheri has worked for Sylvan for 3 years and enjoys the individualized instruction that enables the students to make progress in their educational goals.  She earned her degree at Eastern Kentucky University in Communication Disorders.  She has worked in education for 25 years and currently teaches high school math at First Assembly Christian School, as well as here at Sylvan.  Her areas of expertise are math and SAT/ACT prep.  When not working with students, Mrs. Sheri enjoys scrapbooking and is an avid genealogist.  The two most important things to know about Mrs. Sheri is, that she is a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan and loves spending time with her 3 grandboys!

Sean Page

Teacher

Sean has been with Sylvan for 2 years and uses his knowledge in secondary math to help students reach their goals in their educational journey.  He received his degree from the College of Central Florida in 2024.  His most enjoyable moment is hearing a student say “AH HA” when they finally understand a skill that they have been struggling with.  When you can’t find Mr. Sean at Sylvan, he may be reading fantasy books, painting minis, or mountain biking.

Anthony Ramsey

Teacher

Anthony has been with Sylvan for 2 months and uses his expertise in Exceptional Student Education to work with students of all ages.  He is pursuing his degree in Elementary Education at Liberty University.  He has spent 16 years in the educational field.  He enjoys helping students achieve their academic goals.  His biggest accomplishment is seeing his students grow in their academic goals every year.  When Mr. Anthony is not at Sylvan he likes to play music and hold Bible Studies.

Lorrie Patrick

Director of Operations

Lorrie has been with Sylvan for 5 years.  She is the smiling face that you will see when you walk through the door.  She loves every student and looks forward to hearing about all their achievements.  She helps every teacher prepare for their day and makes sure all of the students have what they need for their educational programs.  When Mrs. Lorrie isn’t at her desk, you can find her spending time with her family or playing mini golf.

Tracy Skinner

Executive Assistant

Tracy has been with Sylvan for 11 months.  She earned her degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida.   She has spent 22 years in the education field.  She enjoys helping students of all ages in their educational journey.  When Mrs. Tracy isn’t found at Sylvan, she will be traveling, hanging with friends and family, or trying out the newest roller coaster.
