FAST Results: What Comes Next for your Child?
SYLVAN LEARNING OF LEE COUNTY
FAST Results Are One Piece of Your Child’s
Learning Journey.
Let’s look at what comes next.
School assessments provide valuable information about your child’s academic progress.
The Sylvan Insight Assessment helps us take a closer look at their individual skills
so we know where to begin.
When we know exactly where your child is starting, we can focus on the right skills,
personalize instruction, and keep progress moving.
OUR 3-STEP APPROACH
A Partnership That Helps Your Child Grow
We assess. We personalize. We adapt.
And we partner with you throughout the process.
ASSESS
Know where to start.
We pinpoint your child’s strengths and specific skill gaps
so instruction can begin where they need it most.
PERSONALIZE
Focus on what matters.
We combine assessment results, parent insight, school performance,
teacher feedback when available, and your goals to create instruction
around your child’s individual needs.
ADAPT
Keep progress moving.
We check progress skill by skill, adjusting instruction
as your child is ready to move forward.
The right skills. At the right time.
So progress keeps moving.
Your child doesn’t follow the same fixed path as every other student.
Their instruction is built around what they need now and continues
to adjust as they demonstrate mastery and are ready for what comes next.
INSIDE THE CLASSROOM
What Personalized Learning Looks Like at Sylvan
Every skill follows a structured process that helps our teachers see
what your child already knows, provide the right level of instruction,
and make sure they can apply the skill before moving forward.
CHECK
What do they already know?
Each skill begins with a quick pretest so the teacher can see
what your child understands and where instruction is needed.
TEACH & PRACTICE
Give them the support they need.
During guided practice, the teacher provides instruction,
works through examples, and supports your child as they begin
applying the skill on their own.
APPLY
Make sure the skill sticks.
When your child is ready, they move into independent practice
while the teacher continues to monitor and support them.
The goal is for your child to apply the skill confidently
and retain it from one session to the next.
Personalized Support in a Small-Group Setting
Our classroom typically works at a 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
This gives students direct instruction and support when they need it,
while also giving them opportunities to practice independently
with the teacher right there to monitor progress and step in when needed.
Because success isn’t just being able to do it at Sylvan.
It’s being able to take that skill back to school and use it with confidence.
Your Child Is More Than a Test Score
Your child’s school assessments are an important part of understanding their progress.
At Sylvan, we use our Insight Assessment for a different purpose:
to help us understand your child as an individual learner and determine
where our instruction should begin.
Assessment results are only part of the picture. We take time to talk with you,
understand what you’re seeing at home and at school, and consider available
school information and teacher feedback.
You know your child. We bring our educational expertise.
Together, we can build the right path forward.
We’re not here just to help your child get through the next test.
We’re here to help them build skills, confidence, and momentum.
