Angela Hayes

Center Director

As Center Director, Angela focuses on making learning fun and creating a family friendly environment that promotes confidence, educational growth and fun for her students at Sylvan of Vacaville. A former Center Director for Sylvan of Modesto for the last five years, Angela chose a career in the tutoring business because she loves education and seeing her students excel. She has a B.S in Business Administration and Marketing from California Sate University Stanislaus. When Angela isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, at the gym or catching the latest movies.

Dezirai

Instructor

Dezirai is a Sylvan tutor in Vacaville, CA who enjoys working with kids. She studied History at Southern New Hampshire University. Her passions are reading, writing, and world history. In her free time, she enjoys watercolor painting, writing, and traveling.

Anna

Instructor

My name is Anna Gabrielle Marquez. I graduated from California State University Sacramento in 2023 with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I enjoy working with students and helping them reach success, so much that I’m back at California State University Sacramento currently working towards a master’s degree in School Counseling. My hope is to work with students and help them navigate any obstacles they may face while in K-12. Aside from working with students, I enjoy all things Disney, traveling, reading, cooking, baking and playing with my dog, Koko.

Dawn

Dawn has a BS in Information Technology, a multiple subject Teaching Credential and a MA in Educational Technology. Outside of teaching, Dawn enjoys the outdoors, painting, and spending time with friends and family.

Doug

Instructor

Doug Cox has a Bachelor’s Degree from San Francisco State University in Broadcast Communication Arts. He worked in the music industry for 17 years. He decided to further his education in Mathematics at Sacramento State University. In his spare time Doug likes to read, watch movies, spend time with grandchildren, and listen to music

Brandon

Administrator / Instructor

Brandon has over half a decade of experience working in education; he is a valued member of our team both as a teach and administrator. He has more than three years of experience working with children with special needs, and has a BA in Psychology. His goal has always been to create a fun and engaging learning environment for students of all ages and abilities.

Peter

Administrator / Instructor

Peter is an administrator and tutor her at Sylvan Vacaville. He has a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s in Library and Information Science. In his free time, Peter enjoys reading, keeping up with current events, video games, and spending time with his dogs!

Dale

Instructor

Dale attends San Francisco State University and is majoring in Business Administration and Management. Dale teaches all subjects here at Sylvan.   In her free time, she is an avid tabletop gamer and convention goer.  Dale also loves picking up new game systems and playing them with her family and friends.

Sheridan

Tutor

Hi, I’m Sheridan. I am one of the beginning reading tutors at Sylvan Vacaville. I have a love for teaching and learning new things and try to impart that on my students. I am also a huge nerd who loves video games and comics, but I am equally a fan of classic literature and crafting.

Haley

Instructor

Hello Sylvan families! My name is Ms. Haley. I have had the pleasure of teaching here at Sylvan since 2024, and have enjoyed working with all of our families! I’m also a General Education teacher in VUSD at Shelly Dally Early Leaning Village teaching both general education and special education students. I have been a teacher for over 13 years and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Lastly, my hobbies consist of shopping, watching my 49ers and Giants play, as well as travelling.

Aiden S

I have a bachelor’s degree in biology from Sacramento State. I’ve attended American River College for my associate’s degree in Sports Medicine. I’ve worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and am currently in nursing school. I’ve also coached Cross Country and Track at Will C. Wood High School.

This is my first time being a teacher, but happy to give back and share my knowledge with future generations!

Aidan M

Hi there! My name is Aidan MacFarlane, I graduated from UC Davis in 2024 with a bachelors in Mathematics and Psychology. I eventually want to be a university professor and therapist that does research in statistical psychology. Currently though, I am a substitute teacher in Woodland and tutor here at Sylvan. In my free time, I like to play car soccer (Rocket League), train with my dog (Edison), and play piano!
