Our tutors and staff in Modesto consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Modesto know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Lynn Dusa
Center Director
Director
As Center Director, Lynn ensures that all our families have a great experience at Sylvan Learning. A former sales and marketing manager, Lynn chose a career in the tutoring business because she loves to work with students and help them reach their goals. When she is not in the center you can find Lynn playing golf or hanging out with her family.
Donna Willliamson
Lead Administrative Assistant
Donna is the Lead Administrative Assistant at Sylvan in Modesto CA. She has been with the company for 10 years. When Donna is not at the office you can find her spending quality time with her family and enjoying outside activities.
Dmitriy Markov
Math Division Lead Teacher
We consider Mr. Markov to be our resident “math guru”. He teaches all levels of math and believes that “mathematics and logic will help students to make right decisions in their life”. We consider him a valuable asset to the team and can’t wait to share his skills and insight with your family! When Mr. Markov is not in the center, he is typically working on DIY projects at home, fishing, or working on cars.
Roger Mossman
Tutor
Mr. Mossman comes to us with over 9 years of experience in the field of education, volunteering and working with students. Mr. Mossman even spent time teaching English in Thailand and China. Roger studied at Biola University and Azusa Pacific University.
Sherry Harris
Tutor
Mrs. Harris is a retired Resource Specialist, retiring from Ceres Unified School District in Ceres, CA with a gift for working with kids. While Mrs. Harris has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in helping children learn. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science from Chapman University. When Mrs. Harris isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her traveling the world.
Jill Luker
Tutor
Ms. Luker is currently a 4/5 Grade teacher, teaching for Ripon Unified School District. Ms. Luker received her teaching credentials through Stanislaus State College where her favorite subject was Math. When Ms. Luker isn’t teaching or tutoring for us at Sylvan, you’ll find her sewing and crafting.
