Caleb's had a tough time with reading and comprehension, but Austin and his crew figured out what he needed and how to get him there and how to make it fun. Caleb's really put in the effort and is steadily getting better. They've been super flexible, always finding a way to connect with Caleb and making their programs affordable too. My son, currently in 3rd Grade, used to hate reading. He struggled through Kinder, 1st Grade. During his 2nd Grade, I have decided to hire a tutor/teacher; however, there has not been much improvement. After doing research, I have decided to enroll him in Sylvan Learning of HB. They did initial assessment and create a plan based on where he is vs where he should be. He has improved beyond imagination!!! Boy that hated reading, loves reading anything now! This location has very dedicated personnel. They work with my children and tailor the tutoring based on the needs of each child.

We had the best experience with this location. My son was struggling with his math due to the pandemic. I got him several tutors but nothing worked. He was getting F on every tests. When I signed him up with Sylvan, after a few sessions, his last test was an A! It was a huge success! Their staff was amazing and we are very thankful !

I am currently a student at HBHS, I came here for about a month to improve my SAT math skills. I had a teacher, I think his name is Jacob, point is: he's straight forward in his teaching style, and we tackled almost a hundred math problems in an hour. That leads to a 250 (ish) improvement on the SAT's math section. Glad I chose this place to prep. Would definitely recommend Sylvan HB Center.

For a few years now, I suspected the current wisdom in teaching reading and writing may not have been helping my son to actually learn either ability very well. So, when my son's state testing fell below standard last spring, I knew either he wasn't working for school, or school wasn't working for him. I think it may have been a little of both. I needed to find some help to get him on track and a friend recommended Sylvan of Huntington Beach to me. Sylvan tested him in August and we found out he was 2 years behind grade level in Language Arts! No wonder those core grades were sliding backward…

The best decision I have made regarding my son’s education. I definitely regret not enrolling him in a private school early on. We have used Sylvan of HB for the past 2 1/2 years for intermittent teenager math tutoring with Ms. Norma & Ms. Shanti, and have referred several friends as well! Both are excellent tutors and relate very well with teenagers. Everyone I referred was very pleased as well!!!

Sylvan HB has been great for my daughter. I should've signed her up sooner. She was going to enter the 2nd grade and I just saw her struggle with reading like she was still in Kindergarten. I looked up various options online before having her reading assessed at Sylvan. To no surprise, but sad, she was primarily at the K/1st level. Since August, I could see her transformation. She reads at 1st/2nd level, so she has a ways to go, but she's more confident and thanks to Holly, Regina, and other teachers, she is excited to go every time. I can’t say enough good things about Sylvan of Huntington Beach. They have helped my daughter improve her reading so much in just the past couple of months. All of the staff have been so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this Sylvan location.
