Our tutors and staff in Fairfield consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Fairfield know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Harleen Kaur Singh
Executive Director
Harleen has led Sylvan Learning to thrive through her passion for education, student success, and community impact. Raised in Punjab, India, and later relocating to San Jose, California, Harleen developed a deep appreciation for the transformative power of education.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies (Early Childhood Education) and an Associate’s degree in Liberal Studies. With more than a decade of experience in education, Harleen is dedicated to helping students reach their full academic potential. Her expertise allows her to develop personalized learning strategies that meet each child’s unique needs and learning style.
As the Executive Director of Sylvan Learning Centers serving Walnut Creek, Napa, Fairfield, and Vacaville, Harleen is committed to creating positive educational experiences that build confidence, inspire growth, and support lifelong success.
When she is not at Sylvan, Harleen enjoys spending quality time with her daughter, staying active through fitness and yoga, caring for her dog and cat, nurturing her plant collection, and expressing her creativity through coloring and making special memories with loved ones.

Bryanna Lott
Program Manager
Bryanna is currently transferring to Sac State. She finds working with children rewarding and loves to help them learn. She provides every need of the center to be full filled through her handwork and dedication When not at Sylvan, Bryanna Enjoys playing volleyball!
Samantha B
Tutor
Samantha is one of our tutors. She is currently attending UC Davis studying biological science. Outside of teaching at Sylvan she enjoys reading and playing the clarinet in groups around the Bay Area.

Jaida C
Tutor
Jaida is one of our tutors here at the Fairfield center. Her hobbies include trying different kinds of dance classes, going to the beach, and eating food at new places! Two of her favorite books are The Great Gatsby and Walk Two Moons.

Jennifer P
Tutor
Jennifer is a Bay Area native. She is a high school student set to graduate in 2026. She loves working with our students here at Sylvan. Some of her hobbies include programming, volunteering, and reading. Some of of her favorite books include Farenheit 451 and The Hate U Give.

Shahmir N
Tutor
Shahmir is a retired social studies teacher with 23 years of experience. He also currently works as a Special Education Aide. Shahmir has plentiful experience working with children and he is a valued teacher here at Sylvan.

Ethan G
Tutor
Ethan is a tutor who aspires to help whoever needs it, whether it is math, English, or science. He is glad to work with students from any age range. In his free time, he indulges in numerous hobbies like reading or puzzles.

Shenondoah P
Tutor
Shenandoah has a strong expertise in STEM and English. Years of helping her classmates has led her to guiding students along their paths to success. When not fostering curious minds, she enjoys playing with her cat and spending time in nature. Shenandoah is certified to instruct within the following programs at our center: Sylvan Sync Writing, Sylvan Sync Reading, and Sylvan Sync Math.
Alvin A
Tutor
Hi my name is Alvin. People call me Emerik. I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Statistics and a minor in Economics. Having had my own struggles in schooling, I’ve always treasured trying to help others past the same barriers. Even I myself attended Sylvan to help me with writing in elementary school, so it’s almost like giving back! In my free time, I love cooking and playing table tennis!
