Fang Fang

Director

Dr. Fang Fang is the Owner and Center Director of Sylvan Learning of Camarillo. She is passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and discover their full potential. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and many years of experience in research, teaching, mentoring, and educational leadership, Dr. Fang brings both a strong academic background and a caring, student-centered approach to the center. As a local parent and educator, Dr. Fang understands how important it is for families to find the right support for their children. Her goal is to make Sylvan Learning of Camarillo a welcoming place where students feel encouraged, parents feel informed, and every child receives personalized support to grow in reading, writing, math, study skills, and beyond.Outside of work, I am an avid marathon runner who has completed the Boston and Chicago Marathons and am working toward completing all six Abbott World Marathon Majors. A journey that reflects my commitment to perseverance, discipline, and continuous growth.

Paul Li

Tutor

Paul Li  a current student for Electrical and Computer Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. he has a year of tutoring experience at the high school – college level with a focus on math tutoring. In his free time he enjoys going to the gym and climbing.

Annette Ruiz

Tutor

Ms. R holds a B.S. in Biology from UC Riverside. She has been a substitute teacher with the local school district for several years. She has provided classroom support for teachers and as an instructional assistant special educator. She has experience helping students strengthen their reading, spelling, and math skills in a Resource Specialist Program. She values maintaining a positive atmosphere for students that is conducive to their learning outcomes. Her familiarity with teaching materials, tools, and techniques helps her guide students in their learning.
   In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and quotes “Friends” on a daily basis.

Theresa

Tutor

Theresa holds a B.S. in Liberal Arts Studies from the California Lutheran University. With 22 years of teaching experience, she has taught Multiple Subjects Curriculum at the grade levels of Elementary Education. At Sylvan, Theresa enjoys working with students from Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. She enjoys teaching students with all subjects, especially Math, Reading, and Writing.
She feels it is important to build students’ confidence to help support their educational endeavors. Outside of Sylvan, she enjoys the outdoors camping with her family and friends, swimming, going on daily walks with her dog Roki, and indoors she enjoys weight training and reading a good book! She continues to be involved with the community by serving on the Association Board of her neighborhood.

Lisa

Tutor

Lisa holds a B.A. from Brown University and teaching credentials for science and multiple subjects.  With over 20 years of experience in a variety of schools and educational settings, her passion lies in finding new ways to spark students’ curiosity about the world and encourage their ability to question and think critically in all subjects. She specializes in one-on-one and small group instruction programs, which allows her to connect with each student, and tailor instruction to meet their individual needs, abilities, and interests. She looks forward to being there for her students at Sylvan, to guide, support and encourage them to be their best, to find out what that even means, and to have fun together.

Outside of Sylvan, Lisa enjoys hiking, biking, gardening, yoga, reading and playing music (clarinet).

Maximus Norten

Tutor

Maximus is an electrical engineering student at Moorpark College. He enjoys teaching children of all ages and watching as they grow their skills and improve. He has experience ranging from teaching children how to read to helping high schoolers understand high level math. In his free time Maximus likes to make electrical projects ranging from a phone to automating his door. When he isn’t working on a project he can be found rock climbing or playing video games. He looks forward to helping your children through their educational journey.
