Our tutors and staff in Phoenix consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Phoenix know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Victoria Sherrard
Director
Director
Victoria has been with Sylvan since 1993. She loves meeting new families and helping them find solutions to their academic challenges.

Roseanne
Teacher
Roseanne earned her BA from Trenton State College (The College of New jersey). While attending college, Roseanne worked closely with Dr. Marshall Smith, the head of the Psychology Department on the evaluation of Head Start. Roseanne has experience teaching preschool through 3rd grade in public school, and substitute teaching for more than 20 years. Roseanne has been with our North Phoenix/Glendale team longer than any other teacher!

Megan
Teacher/Test Administrator
Megan Hayden has a master’s degree in Elementary Education and a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Business Management. She loves teaching students the skills that they will need for high school, college, and life. She loves helping our students develop a lifelong love of learning!

Debbie
Teacher/Tutor
Debbie received her master’s degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in math from California State University in San Bernardino. She has a passion for math and helping students understand math, particularly geometry and algebra. Debbie re-joined the Sylvan team in 2023, but worked her previously in 2017/2018. Debbie is a fantastic math teacher and we are so proud to have her as part of our team! When not at Sylvan, Debbie enjoys playing games with her family, and has a passion for fast pitch softball—which she played competitively in college.
