Giovanna Russo-Romao
Owner/Executive Director
As owner and Executive director, Giovanna sees to the needs of all families that come to Windsor Sylvan Learning. A former teacher with Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board, she brings experience and expertise to Sylvan Learning Programs. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor and has also earned her Red Seal as a Pastry Chef. Giovanna is passionate in her pursuit to help each and every student that becomes part of the Sylvan Learning Family.
Lisa Wacheski
Centre Director
Lisa fulfills scheduling needs of students and teachers, customer service inquiries, billing and administration, and assists with program development. Lisa is a former Manager of Education with a variety of experience in teaching both children and adults. Lisa has lived in Essex County all her life and is a graduate of the University of Windsor. Working for a company that truly cares about the community and helping children grow to be the best they can be is what inspires Lisa.
Emily Gervais
Lead Teacher
Emily is a Lead Teacher and a recent graduate of the University of Windsor. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature with a minor in psychology as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She also has a diploma in Early Childhood Education from St. Clair College. Emily was raised in a family of teachers and has nurtured a love of working with children for many years. She is passionate about getting young students on the path to success by helping them become more confident in themselves.
Julia Rajsigl
Lead Teacher
Julia Rajsigl received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, with a teachable in French from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as a Bachelor of Education from the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University. Julia has been working with children in the Windsor area, in different capacities for over 10 years. She also spent 3 years teaching English as a second language at a private school in South Korea. It is her calling and passion to support the growth and education of children, especially those that need extra assistance. Julia is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive teaching environment where all children can succeed.
