Angela Russell

Executive Director / Owner

Angela is the Executive Director and Centre Owner. She has extensive business management expertise in Education and is focused on making all the centres in the area run smoothly. Angela is also responsible for ensuring Sylvan’s high operating standards are met and that parents and students enjoy the maximum benefits from their Sylvan experience.

ANDREW

TEACHER

Andrew is a Teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Andrew has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in reading tutoring. He studied at Trent University. When Andrew isn’t at Sylvan, you will find him playing hockey in his free time.

Rohit is a Teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Rohit has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in tutoring Mathematics. He studies at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. When Rohit isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him reading or practicing music. 

Christine

Teacher

Christine is an instructor with Sylvan Learning Durham East, with a gift for working with kids. While Christine has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Mathematics tutoring. She studied at York University earning her Bachelor of Education.  She is also currently a teacher with the Durham Catholic District School Board. When Christine isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her cooking and taking cooking classes .

JORDANE

TEACHER

Jordane is a Teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Jordane has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. She studied at Louisiana State University. When Jordane isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her playing soccer and working out.

KOREN

TEACHER

Koren is a Teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Koren has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in English and writing tutoring. She studied at University of the West Indies (UWI). When Koren isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending quality time with her 3 boys, her favourite activity outside of school.

ALISA

TEACHER

Alisa is a Teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Alisa has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Literacy tutoring. She studied at University of New Brunswick . When Alisa isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her listening to music, at the gym and volunteering in her kids’ schools for lunch play, reading stories and at her community parish. 

NICOLETTE

TEACHER

Nicolette is a Teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Nicolette has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in reading and writing tutoring. She studied at Brock University-Bachelor of Physical Education and at Ontario Tech University- Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior stream. When Nicolette isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her spending time outdoors doing something active.

Noella

Teacher

Noella is a teacher at Sylvan Learning Durham with a gift for working with kids. While Noella has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in teaching language arts and literacy. She received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor and her Bachelor or Arts from York University . When Noella isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her at the gym and spending time with family and friends.

Alex

Teacher

Alex is a teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Alex has many tutoring talents, he finds the greatest joy in mathematics and coding tutoring. He is currently studying at Ontario Tech University. When Alex isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find him watching classic movies, or in the kitchen cooking delicious food.

Fatim

French Teacher

Fatim is a teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Fatim has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in French and Math tutoring. She studied at Université du Québec À Montréal . When Fatim isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her biking, hiking and playing scrabble.

Charlotte is a teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Charlotte has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Science tutoring. She studied at UofT and UOIT. When Charlotte isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her playing with her animals and doing crafts. 

Ayesha

Teacher

Ayesha is a teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Ayesha has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in Science and Math tutoring. She studied at College of Engineering, Pune. When Ayesha isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her reading, cooking, hanging out with her family, or watching her favourite shows .

Kristy

Kristy is a teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Kristy has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in math tutoring. She studied at Ontario Tech University. When Kristy isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her drawing, painting or playing guitar.

Kate is a Teacher in Whitby, with a gift for working with kids. While Kate has many tutoring talents, she finds the greatest joy in French tutoring. She studied at University of Toronto Scarborough. When Kate isn’t at Sylvan, you’ll find her at the barn riding horses or out hanging with friends
