Aiman Rathore
Centre Director
Aiman has been a dedicated member of Sylvan Learning since 2023, beginning her journey as a Writing and Reading tutor. Her strong work ethic and commitment to student success quickly led her to the role of Lead Teacher and Administrative Assistant, and she now proudly serves as the Centre Director at our Surrey & Newton location. With a Master’s in English Linguistics, a Master of Philosophy in English Literature, and an MBA, Aiman brings a unique blend of academic expertise, analytical skill, and leadership to her role. Beyond Sylvan, she serves as a Director on two school boards, one supporting underprivileged children in Pakistan and another for gifted learners in British Columbia. Aiman is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences and finds immense fulfillment in helping students grow, gain confidence, and reach their full potential.

Bob Dhudwal
Director of Education
Bob has been with Sylvan Learning since 2001. Initially, he started working as a math instructor in Vancouver. He then transitioned into the role of Director of Education. He joined our Newton location in August 2020. With an understanding that the classroom is not meeting every child’s needs, Bob enjoys collaborating with families to help them achieve their academic goals. He believes there is no greater reward than watching a student gain self-confidence through improved performance at school. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) and Bachelor of Education (Secondary) from the University of British Columbia, and was a Teacher-On-Call for the Vancouver and Surrey School Districts before joining Sylvan.

Karen Bradwell
Teacher and Admin Support
Karen is a passionate educator with over 20 years of classroom teaching experience. She has taught in both general education and special education settings, with a strong focus on supporting students with learning disabilities. Karen earned her Bachelor of Education in Special Education from the University of British Columbia and her Master’s in Education from San José State University. After retiring from the classroom, she joined Sylvan in 2018 and believes it is an ideal environment for students to strengthen their academic skills while building confidence and self-esteem. Her favorite part of teaching at Sylvan is welcoming the energetic and diverse group of students in grades K–12 and seeing them leave at the end of the day with a sense of pride and accomplishment from their lessons.
