Our tutors and staff in Chestermere consist of passionate educators who love inspiring children to succeed. Warm, caring and great at relating to kids, our tutors in Chestermere know how to engage and motivate each child in a personal way—building confidence and smiles, as well as skills and better scores. We selectively choose tutors who know local curriculum and can link Sylvan lessons to what’s being taught in school.

Deborah Darling
Centre Director
As Centre Director, Deborah leads the team, connects with parents, and ensures programming integrity. She has been with Sylvan for 23 amazing years. Her specialty is teaching English, especially writing! When Deborah isn’t at Sylvan, she is walking her dogs and camping with her husband.
Chris Drescher
Lead Teacher
Chris is one of our upper-level math specialists. He has a Bachelors of Science and a Math degree from the University of Lethbridge and has been with Sylvan for many years. He has a knack for being able to explain the hard concepts and make them seem easy! Chris is also able to teach sessions both in-person and online. He has a passion for puzzles and chess, which he enthusiastically shares with the students.
Donna Hancock
Teacher
Donna, formerly a resource teacher, is one of our amazing tutors here at Sylvan of Chestermere. She has a natural talent of working with our younger students to push them towards their academic goals, as well as connecting with them with their own passions and aspirations. When Donna isn’t at Sylvan, you can find her spending time with her family!
Mariam Masri
Mariam has been with Sylvan for one year. She completed a Natural Sciences degree with distinction and loves teaching math, chemistry and science. She loves to spend time with her family and her cat, Binoo.
