Sylvan Learning of Edwardsville Expands Its Facility with New Ownership

As a mother of four, Misty Menossi understands the problems and challenges kids face in school, which is why when she and brother, Leonard Rakers, purchased Sylvan Learning of Edwardsville earlier this year, they decided to make some changes.

Not only did they move the business to a larger space, they expanded the number of programs being offered at the center, too.

“We wanted to add new programs that address specific needs in the community today,”  said Misty.

Among the traditional math and writing programs, Sylvan Learning of Edwardsville added STEM education programs in robotics, coding, game design, and engineering. Additionally, the center now offers tutoring focused on ACT and SAT preparation.

Misty wants people to know that Sylvan is not just for children who are trying to catch up in specific subjects, it's also for kids who excel in certain areas and want to expand their knowledge base.

“As a mother of four, I recognize the advantage to having one-stop shopping for all of your children’s educational assistance needs,” said Misty. “That is the goal we have designed to.”
